Enjoy a wonderful evening with alumni and friends on the outside patio....always a good time. But if Mother Nature doesn't comply, join us inside in the taproom. Good food along with 260 years of Irish brewing history right here in our backyard! Fun for all ages.

Ashley Hinson was the Chapter's guest speaker. She shared her journey as a news broadcaster beginning as a 9 year old watching the news on TV and wondering out loud if that was something she could do. Ashley was also a dancer and when it came to choosing a college she sought one that offered broadcast journalism and the opportunity to continue her dance at a high level - thus selecting Penn State!
Ashley described her Penn State days as very busy keeping up an academic schedule along with the rigors of practice and performances as a Lionette. She recalled some of her student broadcast experiences particularly during the tumultuous times of the 'Sandusky Scandal.'
Her beginning broadcast experiences started in Texas and eventually led to Baltimore and WBAL-TV. Ashley, her husband Josh and two young children live in Howard County.

Our Chapter's 2024 Scholarship recipient, Yani Hawthorne, receiving her scholarship 'check' from treasurer, Alex Barenblitt.
Dear PSU Alumni Association of Central Maryland Chapter, I am forever grateful for being recognized as your 2024 scholarship recipient. This Fall I will be entering my first quarter of Physician Assistant School. This scholarship will help me finish the last semester at Penn State strong before beginning graduate school. I sincerely appreciate your efforts to fundraise to give back to current Penn State students. Your dedication and support to this school is truly remarkable and inspiring. Thank you for supporting my education! Thank you always, Yani Hawthorne
We hold events throughout the year to raise awareness and funds for our cause. We need volunteers to help plan and execute these events, from setting up decorations to managing logistics.
With Carter Starocci and Aaron Brooks each winning their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship coupled with Greg Kerkvliet and Levi Haines earning their National Championship titles, Penn State dominated the NCAA Wrestling Championships!
Penn State won the team title, its 11th National Championship under head coach Cael Sanderson, with 172.5 points, 100 points ahead of second place Cornell - both points records. The team earned 8 All-Americans and many are touting the PSU 2023-2024 Wrestling Team as the best collegiate team in history.
Dear PSU Alumni Association of Central Maryland Chapter,
Words cannot explain how grateful I am to recieve a donation from all of you. Your efforts to fundraise for Penn State students does not go unnoticed, and I am touched by your unwavering support of me throughout my academic and extracurricular endeavors. THON means so much to me, as I’m sure it means just as much to all of you. As you know, you have chosen a wonderful cause to donate to. I dream of becoming a physician assistant specializing in pediatric oncology and THON is what motivates me to pursue this field. Thank you for supporting my efforts in the fight against childhood cancer and I will carry your support with me as I dance during THON weekend.

With just two little words, Penn State defensive lineman Dvon Ellies announced his plans for the 2024 season. He’s coming back for another year on the Penn State defensive line.
Ellies took to his social media account on X (formerly known as Twitter) to confirm his intentions to return to the Nittany Lions in 2024. It will be his sixth year of eligibility, which became an option thanks to the NCAA granting any player from the 2020 season with an extra year of college eligibility.
Ellies played in all 13 games for Penn State in the 2023 season. He recorded 26 total tackles with 5 tackles for a loss. His decision to return for a sixth year is slightly surprising, although Ellies did not offer many comments on his decision-making leading up to the Peach Bowl.
Ellies will figure to be a key returning defensive lineman in 2024 in the middle of the line while Penn State figures out how to plug the holes on the ends. Ellies will be a reliable asset for new defensive coordinator Tom Allen, who takes over the defense following the departure of Manny Diaz to a head coaching opportunity with Duke.
Our purpose is to PROMOTE the fellowship and the welfare and to maintain the friendships of Penn State. We started as a small group of friends who wanted to make a difference in our community.
